William T. "Bill" Applegate died peacefully at his home in Plymouth on August 15th. He was born on October 12, 1948 in Brighton, Michigan to Charles & Marjorie Applegate. He and his wife Patricia moved to Plymouth in 1978 and have been residents for 35 years. Bill recently took a medical retirement from Krogers after working for the company for 47 years. He had been a clerk at the Canton, Ann Arbor and Plymouth stores and was affectionately known by his customers and co workers as "Kroger Bill". A life long sports fan, Bill loved to coach youth football which he did for many years. He was an avid Detroit Tigers and University of Michigan fan. Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia, his children, Michael (Heather) Applegate, Marie Applegate and Brian Applegate, and his precious grandson Henry. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Stanley (Shirley) Myers, Gene (Janet) Myers, Jack (Kris) Myers, Dianne (Jim Borowiec) Applegate and Greg Applegate. Friends may visit at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main Street, Plymouth, MI on Sunday from 2 until 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 o'clock with the Rev. Wayne Kurtycz officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army or the Charity of the Donor's choice.
