Passed away at his home suddenly on August 22, 2012 at the age of 90. William was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 7, 1921 the son of Alexander and Kathryn ( Crane ) Hogg. Bill served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Following the war he was employed by Bethlehem Steel Corporation from which he retired as plant manager in 1981. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church of Canton where he served as a choir member, Sunday School teacher and treasurer for many years. He loved working on his farm and playing and watching sports of any kind. He married Joyce Evelyn Oehler in 1943 who passed away this past January. Surviving Bill are his children, William F. ( Nancy ) Hogg Jr., Joyce D. ( James ) Grace, John E. Hogg and David R. ( Judy ) Hogg. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren and brother Robert Hogg. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy Jackson, Ruth Moore and Alexander Hogg. Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Monday from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 1pm with Pastor John Shinn of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Cemetery in Livonia where military honors will be rendered. Contributions are suggested to the church, Calvary Baptist Church, 43065 Joy Road, Canton, MI 48187.
