Walter Edward Vashak

Walter Edward Vashak was born in Detroit January 24, 1948 to parents Walter & Betty Vashak and passed away December 16, 2017. In 1966 Walter graduated from University of Detroit Jesuit High School. He pursued his dreams of becoming an attorney at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he earned his undergraduate degree. He then went on to graduate from the University of Michigan Law School with his Juris Doctor Degree. Walter was very proud of his distinguished legal career which spanned over 40 years. He enjoyed golfing, classic cars and watching classic movies. He especially loved listening to all types of music from classical to classic rock. Walter believed his greatest achievement in life was being a father and grandfather.

He is survived by his loving children Stacy (Nathan) Redmond and Amy (Steve) Martin. He is the proud grandfather of Fisher Jackson Martin and the dear brother of Becky Casey. He is also survived by his former spouse Susan Vashak.

There will be a Memorial Gathering Thursday, December 21, from 4-9pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main St., Plymouth. A Memorial Mass will be Friday, December 22, at 10:30am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 44800 Warren Rd., Canton. Memorials may be made to the University of Detroit Jesuit High School , 8400 N.
