Veida M. White, age 76 of Plymouth, passed away on February 13, 2023.
She was born in Garden City, Michigan on September 3, 1946 to her parents, the late Lucille (née Lane) and Ernest Cheladyn. Veida is the beloved and devoted wife of 52 years to Ronald White; loving mother of three children – Jennifer White, Robert (Anna) White and Andrew White; proud grandmother of Seth, Brandon, Edward, and Thomas. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her lifelong friend, Jan Gibbs whom she knew since she was three years old. Jan lived next door and was more like a sister to Veida and was known in the family as “Aunt Jan”.
Veida was a graduate of Edsel Ford High School in Dearborn, Michigan. She married Ronald White and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Together they raised three children. Veida loved her family. Her children grew up and she and Ronald eventually became grandparents. She looked forward to the visits to her home by each of her grandchildren. Each of them had their own special relationship with her. She loved their unique personalities and loved to hear them laugh and have fun with her. She enjoyed the many family trips to the ocean while vacationing in North Carolina, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Florida. She also enjoyed the annual trip with her daughter, Jennifer and Jan to visit family and attend family reunions in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Veida always kept in regular contact with her children. Moms are always moms who never stop worrying about their children, even when they are all grownup and have children of their own. She talked with them often by phone to check-in with them and make sure they knew they were the most important people in her life.
She loved animals all of her life, but she especially loved Boxer dogs. She loved them as puppies in their playful and rambunctious stage until they became young adult dogs growing into their more dignified leadership roles as calm and loyal companions to her the rest of their lives. Not only did she love her own pets, but she also has many “grand-pets” to love. She would always remember her many boxers from over the years. Now, only “Lila” is left and is missing someone she loved and cared about who is no longer a part of her daily life.
