Tilde Elsa "Margherita” Mucci, was called home to Our Lord, the morning of Sunday, October 10th at the age of 83, embraced in the love of her family surrounding her.
The daughter of Donato and Carmela DeMarco, she was born on August 20, 1938, in Montelongo (Molise), Italy. She was the youngest of four children. Margherita came to America in 1957 at the age of 18 and bravely adjusted to her new life. She began to learn English and gave birth to her first son, Anthony, in June of that year.
Margherita was an extraordinary woman. Her strength and perseverance were beyond measure and her love was penetrating. She created a loving home and nourished her family in every way. Through her faith, dedication to tradition, and love of food, she raised her three tenacious sons. She was a loving wife to her husband, Pietro Mucci, owner of Pete’s Shoe Repair in Plymouth, and together they created a home rooted in Italian heritage. From this tradition, Mama Mucci’s Pasta was born.
Mama Mucci’s Pasta was established in 1989 by her sons, Vincenzo and Francesco, based off the recipes and techniques learned from her mother. The success of Mama Mucci’s Pasta is endowed to the hard work of her sons, the irresistibility of her pasta and Mama herself. She unwaveringly acted as the matriarch of her family and will continue to reign over our hearts.
Margherita was preceded in death by her husband Pietro “Pete” Mucci. Those left to cherish her memory include her three loving children, Anthony (Patricia) Mucci, Vincenzo (Amy) Mucci and Francesco (Jennifer Price) Mucci and her precious granddaughters, Gabriella and Julia Mucci.
