Thurston Wilfred Trask II passed away at home in Yucca Valley, CA on Sunday, June 10th at the age of 66. He was born on April 6, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan to Thurston and Rosemary (McErlane) Trask.
Thurston is deeply loved and will be missed by his son Matthew (Laura) Januszewski; his 4 grandchildren, Morgan, Claudia, Ella and Owen; his sisters Kathleen (Larry) Olesky and Rosemary Trask. Thurston is also survived by many cousins, his dear friends, Mike O’Connell and Jimmy Huang and his nephews and nieces that he loved to pieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Thurston and Rosemary (McErlane) Trask and his oldest sister Roberta (Trask) Ronayne.
Thurston was a proud father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He lived life to the fullest and cherished every moment. He was an excellent salesman, from flower shops to stained glass doors, whatever business venture he pursued he was enthusiastic and successful. Always smiling, he took refuge in simple pleasures. While enjoying the company of family and friends he loved to tell stories, watch football, care for his dogs and he never turned down an invite to go see a good movie.
A Memorial Gathering and Service celebrating Thurston’s life will be held on Friday, August 10th. Family and friends may visit Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan 48170 starting at 10:00 am. A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 am.
Following the service, Thurston will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre 25800 W 10 Mile Rd Southfield, Michigan 48033 at 1:00 pm. Immediately following the burial, a celebration of Thurston’s Life will continue at his childhood home 32500 W Chicago, Livonia, MI 48150.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Last Day Dog Rescue. Thurston was all about saving the underdog, just as this rescue group does.
