Thomas Puzzuoli, age 85, passed away at Providence Park Hospital in Novi, on Thursday, March 8, 2012. Tom was born in Benwood, West Virginia, on July 9, 1926, the son of Benedetto and Concetta (Panetta) Puzzuoli. His family moved to Detroit, where he spent his youth and attended the Detroit Public Schools. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II, seeing duty in the Philippines. At the end of his enlistment he had risen to the rank of Staff Sergeant. At the end of the war he returned to Detroit, where he met and married Barbara Jean Robinson. Barbara passed away in 1982. In the late 1960's the family moved to Carmel, California, but later returned to the Northville area.
Tom is survived by his four children, Thomas Brent (Franziska) Puzzuoli, Kent (Benita) Puzzuoli, Lori (Jim) Karlow and David (Theresa) Puzzuoli. He is also survived by six grandchildren and his sisters, Lydia, Gilda and Rosemarie. He is preceded in death by his siblings, James,Jerry, John and Yolanda.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main Street, Plymouth, on Saturday, March 17, 2012, from 2pm until the time of the memorial service at 3pm. Contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
