Thomas William Marcero, age 77 of Canton passed away on January 26, 2025. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 17, 1947 to his parents, the late Dorothy (née Azarovitz) and Miles Marcero. Thomas was raised in Carleton, Michigan, graduating from Catholic Central High School in Monroe, Michigan. 

Thomas is the beloved and devoted husband of Janis Lynne (née Parent) Marcero; loving father of four children – Joseph (Kathleen) Marcero, Jeffrey Marcero, Huong (Cindy) Marcero, Nicole Marcero, and Christopher (Holly) Marcero; proud grandfather of six grandchildren – Hailey, Gabriel, Aubrey, Elle, Miles, and Summer.

He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his siblings, Bob (Diane) Marcero, Rita Marcero, Jerry (Amy) Marcero, Greg (Jackie) Marcero, Donny (Denise) Marcero, Chuck (Lavina) Marcero, and the late John Marcero.

Thomas moved from Dearborn Heights, Michigan to the Canton community in 2022. He is an active member of Our Lady of The Angels Catholic Church in Taylor, Michigan. He was a Third Degree Knight and member of Knights of Columbus Fr. Saylor Council #3774. Thomas was also active with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, helping neighbors in immediate crisis with food, clothing, financial assistance, and other available resources. On a typical day, Thomas enjoyed tinkering in the garage, riding his John Deere lawn mower, taking care of his rose garden, or watching NASCAR. He was loved by many who knew him, providing a helping hand for anyone who was in need. 

Thomas was not only dedicated to serving his church and community, he also proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, he was a jet engine mechanic who earned glowing recommendations on his skills, leadership, and work ethic. Sergeant Marcero was honorably discharged in June 1972. He was a diesel mechanic with Jones Transfer, working on semi-trucks and trailers. Thomas retired as a bus mechanic at Airport Community Schools in Carleton, Michigan.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 6442 Pelham Road, Taylor, Michigan on Saturday, February 8, 2025 beginning at 10:00 A.M.
