Theresa Ann Duty of Plymouth, passed away August 2, 2018. She was 51 years old. Theresa was born on June 15, 1967 in Mount Clements, Michigan to Frank and Joyce Kengel. She was the beloved wife of Larry Duty for 26 years. Theresa is also survived by her three loving children Mandi (Adam) Terns, Kyle Duty, and Shayna Duty, her two precious grandchildren Braden and Brantley Terns, her four dear siblings Sheryl (Todd) Bidwell, Elizabeth Kengel, Frank (Holly) Kengel Jr., and Marty (Tammy) Kengel, and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, and two of her sisters Anna Kengel and Sandy Mrazek.
Theresa spent her life surrounded by family she cared deeply for all of those who knew her. As a nurse, her giving spirit always provided her patients with the best care she could give. She always went above and beyond, and any time she was asked for anything, there was never any question; she provided. Theresa was also an adventurous woman who loved being in nature. She had a passion for gardening, and her favorite garden visitor was her butterflies. Oh... the butterflies. Theresa enjoyed going to the park for walks and just being outdoors close to God's creatures. Every full moon, her crystals were out and charging. She loved the changing of the leaves during fall and once had the family take a trip up north just to drive around and look at the different colors. Northern Michigan was a very special place for Theresa and her family to spend time together. Family always came first for her.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 8, from 4-6pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, Michigan, 48170. Her Funeral Service will immediately follow visitation beginning at 6pm. Memorial Donations in Theresa’s memory may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America.
