Sylvia Chestney passed away at Marywood Nursing facility on Monday, March 24, 2014. Sylvia had just celebrated her 99th birthday. So many were touched Sylvia's humor, kindness and love for over 99 years. She was ahead of the times as she learned about the stock market at a young age and was the owner of two small businesses in the 1930's. In the 40's, she helped out the cause as she joined Chrysler as Rosie the Riveter. Sylvia was married to Ray, they had one daughter, Marlene Gaibrois (Gilbert), was the oldest of four siblings, had two grandchildren Leslie Skillman (Richard) and Paul Gaibrois (Lisa) and two great-grandchildren Thomas and Lindsay Skillman. She flipped properties before it was popular and was able to travel and enjoy a wonderful life. Her final performance as Dolly in the Marywood Nursing Care Center production surely has the angels singing, "Well hello Dolly, it's so nice to have you back where you belong"! A Memorial Service will be led by Brother Tom Hercegovics on Saturday, March 29, 2014, 3:30PM at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 4 P.M.
