Susan Marie Wiercioch

Susan Marie Wiercioch, born on May 31, 1967, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, in Plymouth, Michigan. Although her life was unfortunately cut short, she made the most of every single day. 

Susan's 25-year career as the Latch Key Director at Our Lady of Good Counsel showcased her remarkable ability to nurture and guide children. Her commitment to creating a safe and enriching environment for young minds was evident in the countless lives she touched during her years of dedicated service.

Susan leaves behind her cherished husband, Brian Wiercioch, who stood beside her throughout their life together. She is also survived by her two loving children, Troy (Hillary) and Sarah (Jose) Pagan, who brought immense joy to her life. As a proud grandmother, Susan adored her grandchildren - Callahan, Luciano, and Cristiano - who were a source of boundless happiness and pride.

In addition to her immediate family, Susan is survived by her siblings: Richard (Rhonda) Fairfield, Laura (Ed Rivas) Kester, Edward (Melinda) Fairfield, and Katherine Fairfield. Together, they shared endless memories and support, forming bonds that will last through the years.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Lenore (Butterfield) Fairfield. Their love and guidance undoubtedly shaped the person she became, and their memory will forever reside in the hearts of those who knew her.

Family was everything to Susan. She loved driving her RV all over Michigan and beyond, enjoying the outdoors, and scouring the Great Lakes for Petoskey stones and agates. Despite years of ill health, her attitude remained positive, and she brought sunshine to everyone around her. Susan was a talented fiber artist, an avid crafter, and a jewelry maker, photographer and she loved sharing her creations and knowledge. She was nurturing and caring, selflessly giving all she could to help others.

As we remember Susan Marie Wiercioch, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love, dedication, and an unwavering spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, 301 E. Liberty, Suite 400, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104-2251.   Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan, on Tuesday, October 22, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., with her funeral service beginning at 1:00 P.M. There will be a gathering following the service at Stella’s in Plymouth.
