On Sunday, January 31st 2021 Steve Johnson loving husband, father and papa, passed away at the age of 70.
Steve was born on October 9, 1950 in Deadwood, South Dakota. He received his bachelor’s degree from Huntington College in Huntington, Indiana in 1973. Steve spent the majority of his career in medical sales.
Steve loved to make those around him laugh. He was known for his tall tales and was quite the salesman. He was a social butterfly and loved making friends. He enjoyed fishing and golfing and looked forward to family outings. Often it was difficult to decipher if Steve was being serious or joking. From silly faces to his famous Fly Away Jack trick, perhaps being Grandpa Steve or Papa was his favorite.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Lyle, and mother, Dorothy. He is survived by his wife, Debi, his children Jeremy (Alyssa), Andy (Victoria), Jono (Kristin), Beth (Andy), CC, and Chad (Julie), his siblings Will (Theresa), JoAnne, Carol (Dan), Eric (Bonnie), and Nancy (Dennis). He is also survived by grandchildren Ethan, Charlotte, Lilly, Graham, Elin, Emilia, Vivian, Lucas, Audrey and Lucy.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 6th at Calvary Baptist Church located at 43065 Joy Rd. Canton, MI. from 9am-11:30am followed by a memorial service at noon.
The church allows for safe social distancing if you plan to join us. If not, please join a live stream of the service at cbcjoy.org/live. In lieu of flowers, the family requests, donations be made to the American Heart Association in Steve’s honor.
