Mr. Malik passed away at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the age of 85. Stanley was born in Huntington Woods, Michigan the son of Stanley and Elizabeth ( Mumph ) Malik Sr. Stanley's parents owned a farm in Westland area of Hix and Joy roads and he remained there for his entire life. He served with the United States Navy after the close of hostilities with Japan aboard the attack aircraft carrier, USS Antietam. He was honorably discharge in 1947. After all the chores associated with farming were complete, Stanley enjoyed reading and playing cards and being with his family. He was also a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church of Canton. He is survived by his wife Emma and children Robert ( Nancy ) Malik, Elizabeth ( Joseph ) Sammut, Timothy ( Kimberly ) Malik, Steven ( Wende ) Malik and John ( Angie ) Malik. Also surving are his grandchildren, Matthew ( Kerri ) Malik, Mark ( Stacy ) Malik, Christina Sammut, Kimberly Sammut and Bryce Osceola, Andrew Malik and great grandchildren, Anna, Aidan, Sadie, Chase and Austin. A Memorial Gathering and Service is planned for Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main Street, Plymouth. Visitation will begin at 2pm and continue until the time of service at 5pm.
