Shirley Ruth Smith, age 89 of Plymouth, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Shirley was born October 13, 1927 to her parents, Edwin and Amanda (nee Scharfenberg) Ewald. She is the beloved wife of the late Wally Smith. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Martin Lee (Elise) Smith, Wallace “Wes” (Joan) Smith, and Susan (Charles) Gabriel; her precious grandchildren, Jeanne (Brian) Swanson, Amanda (Matthew) Menchinger, Wallace Smith, Jr., Jason (Kelia) Gabriel, Molly Gabriel and Becca Gabriel; and great-grandchildren Alana, Judah, Sophia, Olivia, Aidan, Scarlett, Maverick and Madden. Dearest sister to the late Doris Ewald. Shirley is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her sister-in-law, Eleanor Smith and nieces, Sherri (David) Bolda, Jennifer Bell and Stephanie Piecuch.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth on Saturday, January 14th 3pm to 8pm. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, January 15th at 4pm to be officiated by Pastor Jerry Yarnell. Shirley will be laid to rest at Webster Cemetery on Monday, January 16th, 2017 at Webster Cemetery in Almont Township, Michigan.
