Shirley Ann Bush, age 85 of Plymouth passed away on March 17, 2021.
Shirley was born on September 21, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to her parents, the late William and Bessie (née Roe) McPherson. She is the beloved and devoted wife of Kenneth Bush. They were married on June 8, 1957 and shared 63 years of marriage. Shirley is also the loving mother of four children – Leonard (Sandy) Bush, Linda (Grant) Hamilton, Robert (Mari) Bush and Lisa (Russell) Schnorberger; proud grandmother of Laura Militello, Jenny Bush, Jacob Schnorberger, Emma Schnorberger and great-grandmother to James Militello.
As Shirley and Ken raised their children, they watched them grow into successful and honorable adults with loving personalities, good character and a sense of gratitude. Shirley and Ken were the role models for their children and wanted most for them to one day find loving spouses so they too could be role models for their children. Shirley deeply loved her family and as their children married, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren were born into the family, so did her love.
She certainly knew the joys of being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. And, as a grandmother and great-grandmother, she would make every day spent with each grandchild very special. She collected and displayed their artworks like they were of museum quality. She would listen to their stories and join in their laughter as the stories were told. Shirley’s family said, "she always loved a good laugh and she could be silly too." She was amusing and was fun to be with. She lived her life in a lively and lighthearted way and demonstrated life is better when you're laughing. Shirley's love and her signature laughter will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service is being planned for a later date.
