Sestina Tomei, age 89, of Canton, passed away on December 27, 2011. She was born in Tussilo, Italy, to the late Domencio and Adelina D'Ascenzo. She is survived by her daughter, Bina Tomei. Proud grandmother of Eric (Michelle) Tomei, Melissa (Alex) Shalhoub and Amanda (Chad) Smith. Great grandmother of Olivia Shalhoub, Adrianna Tomei and Amira Shalhoub. Also survived by her daughter in law, Rose Tomei, and by many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Domenico, and by her son, Vic Tomei.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 10:30am with visitation beginning at 10:00am from St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 44800 Warren Rd.(1/4 mile West of Sheldon Rd.), Canton. Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main, Plymouth, on Thursday from 3-9pm with a Scripture service at 7:30pm. Entombment at St. Hedwig Cemetery.
