Samuel Lewis Epley, III, age 65. Beloved for his kindness, compassion, reliability, patience, resourcefulness, and strength, this husband, father, grandfather, son and brother passed away peacefully on October 18, 2016. A Spartan fan to the core, this 1969 Franklin High School graduate attended Michigan State University and graduated in 1973. He worked as a Property Claims Manager at Allstate for over 40 years, and most recently as a Catastrophic Claims Consultant. Sam is survived by his wife, Diane Beryl Epley (nee Lang), sons Samuel Robert (Tracey) Epley, IV, Scott Lewis Epley, and Steven William (Anna) Epley, mother Mary Jean Epley, brother Randy (Lorna) Epley, sisters Jean (George) Jennings (George), Becky (Frank) Prince, Sue Sukup, and Carol (Kyle) Kerkhof, and grandchildren Lilah, Madeleine, Ashley, Amy and Samantha Epley.
A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, October 22, 2016, 11AM at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth. Friends may visit Friday from 11AM until 6PM and Saturday beginning at 10AM. A jacket and tie are not expected.
