Ruth Janet Wiles of Canton, Michigan and Crossville, Tennessee, passed away March 18, 2017 at the age of 92. She was born in Detroit to Charles and Margaret (nee Steelow) Franz. Ruth is survived by her loving children Diane (James Thomas) Pollock, Thomas (Laura) Wiles, Ray (Ilidia) Wiles, and Joanne (the late Gary) Harper, her precious grandchildren Stephen Wiles, Jason (Pam) Wiles, Sonya Eubanks, Catherine Pollock, and Kevin (Kandace) Wiles, and 10 great grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Wiles, both of her parents, and her dear brother Charles Franz.
Ruth was completely devoted to her family. She was always there for her children. Ruth was a longtime member at the First Church of Christ Scientists in Plymouth. In her free time, Ruth enjoyed needlework: crochet, needlepoint, and knitting. She even taught classes on it at the Canton Seniors Craft Class. She was also a member of the Canton Historical Society and an active supporter and member of the Canton Goodfellows. Ruth was an avid square dancer as well. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be Friday, March 24, from 2-8pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main Street, Plymouth, 48170. Funeral Service will be Saturday at 11am at the Funeral Home. Family and friends may begin visiting at 10am. Interment will follow the service at Knollwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canton Goodfellows or the Canton Historical Society.
