Roy Wallace Matthews, Jr.

Roy Wallace Matthews, age 91 of Canton passed away August 8, 2016.

Roy was born in Cement City, Michigan on August 16, 1924 to his parents, Roy Wallace and Ola (nee Baker) Matthews. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mildred “Millie” (nee Carroll) Matthews. They have been married for 49 years. Roy is the devoted and loving father of Melinda (Jon) Bern, Douglas (Helen) Matthews, Jennifer (Michael) Buckland, Keith (Chris) Fuson, Todd (Nancy) Fuson, the late Roy Matthews, III, and the late Kimberly Fuson. Proud Grandfather of Sara (Kaylen) Rimar, Michael Bern, Derek Fuson and Justin Fuson. He is also survived by his siblings, Joyce (Don) Webster, Linda Ching and John (Janice) Matthews.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and later, was a well-known Surgeon in the Plymouth and Westland communities for over 50 years.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 12th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 Noon at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main Street, Plymouth.
