Rosemary Agnes Byle, age 100 of Westland, passed away on October 21, 2020. Rosemary was born on October 4, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan to her parents, the late Eddie and Cornelia (nee´ Karpp) McGrath.
She is the beloved and devoted wife of the late Bernard Byle. They were married at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Detroit on May 25, 1948. They celebrated 48 years of marriage until Bernard passed away on September 13, 1996. Rosemary is also the loving mother of six children - Suzanne (Ray) Mote, Kathleen (David) Bailey, Patricia Byle, Julie (Bill) Prochazka, Peter (Colleen) Byle and Matthew (Carolyn) Byle; proud grandmother of Katherine (Paul) Schrems, Andrew Bailey, David Bailey, Matthew Byle, Melissa Byle, William Byle, Brittney Osterander, Lauren Prochazka, Mike (Amy) Prochazka and Jeff Powrozek and step-great grandmother of Wyatt. She is pre-deceased by her infant son, the late Robert Byle. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Rosemary was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. She cherished her husband Bernard and their 48 years together as well as each and everyone of her children. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. All who loved her dearly will never forget her undying love and caring for them.
Her family says she left us such a wonderful example of one who faced the ups and downs of her life with such a calm acceptance and grace. No one ever heard a single complaint from Rosemary - especially in the last couple of years that at times were very difficult for her. She had a lovely singing voice and when she was young, she often performed on Belle Isle with her dad while her mom played the piano. She always remained very interested in current events and was always well-informed regarding world affairs. Most importantly, her cheerful outlook was firmly rooted in her Catholic faith which meant the world to her.
