Ronald James Sineni

August 9, 1934 — March 21, 2014

Ronald passed away at his home with his beloved family surrounding him on Friday, March 21, 2014 at the age of 79. Ronald was born in Detroit, the son of James and Helen ( nee Mazur ) Sineni. He graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn. Ron was an accomplished musician and while in high school he was a member of the Five Dukes of Rhythm, which played for various functions in the Dearborn area. Ron was also quite an athlete, playing on the baseball team and also involved in track and swimming. After high school he went to work for the Ford Motor Company and after a couple of years he entered the United States Army. While in the army he was a member of the 3rd Army Band, playing various instruments, including the Bass and the Accordion, and eventually becoming an outstanding self taught organist. He was also on the Ford Motor Company baseball team. Also, while serving his enlistment at Fort McPherson in Georgia he met a beautiful young lady, Hazel, who in a few years would become his bride. Hazel stayed in Georgia after his service obligation was fulfilled and Ron continued to court her long distance. Always a lover of music, he mailed to her a record of Paul Anka's "You Are My Destiny" to express his feelings and on October 18, 1958 they were wed. Ron had gone back to work at Ford and continued until 1996 when he retired after 42 years of service as an industrial engineer in the Frame Plant in Dearborn. Other interests Ron had beside his love of music, which he instilled in his daughters and grandchildren, were boating and waterskiing. Yet his greatest joy was his family, doing whatever he could for them including driving his daughter's cheer teams to events, he was the "# 1 cheer dad." Ron had nine grandchildren and they became " his world." He'd go anywhere to attend their events and to help out in any way that he could. Always an animal lover, we can not leave out another special friend in his life, " Molly ", his special puppy dog. Ron is survived by his wife Hazel and their three daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Dr. Michael Falzon, Christina and Jeffrey Dolkowski and Donna and Dr. Thomas Carey. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren Aaron(fiancée,Megahan O'Connell), Brittany and Brooke Dolkowski, Rachel, Rebecca, Michael and Matthew Falzon and Gwendolyn and Amelia Carey. Ron also leaves his sister, Sandra Sassak, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 pm until 8 pm and Tuesday from 4 pm until 9 pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth. A Rosary will be said at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 9:30 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Thomas a'Becket Catholic Church, 555 South Lilley Road, Canton ( south of Cherry Hill ). Interment will follow at Knollwood Cemetery in Canton. The family suggests contributions to St. Jude's Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
