Rocco DeGiulio, age 86 of Novi passed away on November 26, 2017.
Rocco was born on July 9, 1931 in Bari, Italy the son of Francis and Rosina (nee LaTorre) DeGiulio. He is the beloved and devoted father of Rosina DeGiulio, Margo Murphy and Teresa Fletcher; proud Grandfather of seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his brother Angelo (Joy) DeGiulio, and many nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his brother, John DeGiulio, and his sisters, Angeline Barkey and Michele DeGiulio.
In February 1953, at the age of 21, Rocco entered into the United States Army. He proudly served during the Korean War.
Music and dance brings no harm to anyone, and Rocco loved both listening to music and dancing. Psalm 149:3 teaches us, “Let them praise His name with dancing;” Rocco is experiencing the sound of the most beautiful music ever heard and is dancing in heaven today.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Wednesday, November 29th from 4:00 to 9:00pm. A rosary will be said beginning at 7:00pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 30th beginning at 11:00am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 North Territorial Road, Plymouth.
Burial will be on Friday, December 1st at 10:00am at Great Lakes National Cemetery at Holly, Michigan.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Rocco DeGiulio to the Salvation Army or Humane Society. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
