Robert D. Rienas, Sr., age 95 of Plymouth, Michigan passed away peacefully on May 23, 2023 in Jupiter, Florida.
He was born on July 25, 1927, in Dearborn Michigan to his parents, the late Winnifred (Woronick) and Edward Rienas. Robert was the beloved and devoted husband of Ruth Virginia Jewell (deceased) and Joan Anderson; loving father of five children, Robert Jr., Renee Badall (Joseph), Rhonda (deceased), Randy (Sherry) and Ron (Michelle); proud grandfather of Matthew Hochradel (Jessica), Christopher (Danielle), Sean, Katie, Marc, Thomas and William; loving great grandfather of Ella Hochradel, Cason Rienas and Aubri Manac. He dearly loved Joan Anderson, his wife after the passing of Ruth, and her family Jane and Ken Hasse, their children Doug, Greg, Tim and Suzanne, and Jim and Susan Anderson and their children Emily, Mitchell and Lauren.
Robert loved gardening and was an excellent cook. He was active in the community and church, a member of St. Kenneth’s Catholic Church as a minister of the Eucharist and an Usher. He was also a docent at the Plymouth Historical Museum, a member of the Council of Aging, and a member of the Livonia Travel Club.
Prior to retirement from Ford Motor Company in 1985 Robert worked for 34 years as a supervisor in program timing in Dearborn, Michigan. He received his bachelor’s degree in business management from Cleary College, Ypsilanti, Michigan in 1965.
Robert served in the U.S. Navy during World War II after graduating from Plymouth High School. He was a resident of Plymouth since 1932.
Family and friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 3:00pm until the time of the Rosary Service at 7:00pm.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 beginning at 2:30 P.M. at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 North Haggerty Road, Plymouth. Robert will be in-state at 2:00pm until the beginning of the Mass at 2:30pm.
Robert will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth, Michigan.
