Robert Scott McWatt

Robert Scott McWatt, age 67 of Plymouth passed away on January 16, 2023.

He was born April 6, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan to his parents, George Douglas and Ruth (née Nusbaum) McWatt.  He was the beloved and devoted husband of the late Christine Hoeprich McWatt, who passed away in 2012; He is survived by his children Stephanie (Michael) Salsbery, Maggie (Thomas) Fanslow and Derek (Cammi) McWatt; grandfather of Madison, Abigail, Aubrey, Wesley, Michael, Jensen, Thomas, Parker and Maisey; his brother Douglas (Linda) McWatt, sister Janet (Joseph) Eggli and his cousin Lorna (Craig) Tarbeck.

He attended American InterContinental University where he earned a bachelor’s degree and then to Wayne State University where he earned his master’s degree.

Robert later began teaching at ITT Technical Institute where he was able to realize what an incredible privilege, he was given during his lifetime to do something that might have a real positive impact on his students, even if only a small one.

Robert was also an artist.  He would start with a photograph and transform it into a painting and produce very interesting artwork.  His artistic imagination would allow him to start with a black and white photo and transform it into a painting by adding color to objects and scenery and ultimately producing something beautiful.

A service is being planned for the spring at Maple Grove Cemetery in Empire, MI. For those planning an expression of sympathy and wish to honor the memory of Robert Scott McWatt are invited to consider a contribution to Huron Valley Humane Society, 3100 Cherry Hill Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48105 or online at http://www.hshv.org
