Robert Louis Carrie, Jr.

Passed away at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills on Sunday, August 24th. Robert was born in Detroit on November 11, 1924 the son of Robert L. Sr. and Margaret ( nee Brown ) Carrie. In 1943 he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Southern France and Rhineland campaigns as a military policeman. He had worked in quality control for Mac Valves for over twenty years retiring in the mid 1990's. Robert enjoyed bowling and it was on a bowling date he met his wife to be, Annette. They were married in 1958. Annette passed away in 2012. Besides bowling, Robert enjoyed following the Tigers and playing golf. He had a hole-in-one in 1960 at Warren Valley Golf Course. Other interests included reading, especially military history and watching old classic movies and going with his wife to the Windsor Casino. He is survived by his children Betty Carrie, Lois ( Brian ) Bez and Edward ( Laura ) Carrie and his grandchildren Samantha, Michael, Joshua and Hannah. Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Wednesday from 5 pm until 8:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 10 am until time of the funeral mass at 10:30 am at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 Haggerty Road ( south of Five Mile ) Plymouth. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Southfield. Contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
