Robert J. Ploucha

Robert was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 16, 1952 to his parents, Frank H. and Florence (née Pross) Ploucha. He is the beloved and devoted husband of 47 years to Denise (née Hartz) Ploucha. They were married at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Plymouth on February 8, 1974. Loving father of five children – John (Mindy), William (Ann), Patrick, Michael (Brittany) and Jennifer (Michael) LaPlante; proud grandfather of Brayden, Izabella, Lillian, Cassandra, Bryce, Anson, Patricia, Elijah, Briella and Kayla. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his brother Thomas (Linda).

Robert was very active with the Boy Scouts of America (known today as Scouts BSA). He also assisted with coaching his children in sports. Being a coach to his children made him an even greater positive role model and offered to Robert another opportunity to show them that hard work and fun can go hand-in-hand. He loved the competition and winning, but even more so, he was able to see his children and other young players develop in character and in skill.

Family was the most important thing in Robert’s life. Family meant everything to him and there was nothing he wouldn’t do to see that his family was happy. His love was strong and unconditional.

All who knew Robert also knew that he had a sweet tooth. No matter the occasion, he could find a reason to reward himself with a sweet treat of some kind. Ice cream, candy, cake, or pie, it was one of Robert’s greatest joys in life to also reward his children and grandchildren by taking them to the neighborhood Seven-Eleven Store at Warren and Canton Center Road and reward them with a special sweet treat of their choice. Many great memories have been made and the special traditions will long be remembered and treasured by those who were able to know and love Robert and share in those special moments with him.

Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 9:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 North Territorial Road, Plymouth, Michigan.
