Robert Donald Chute, age 90 of East Lansing passed away on October 4, 2019.
Robert was born November 29, 1928 in Detroit to his parents, the late George M. and Josephine (nee LaSota) Chute. He is the beloved husband of the late Marian L. (nee Price) Chute; devoted father of Lawrence (Jeanne) Chute and Janet Monroe; proud grandfather of Colleen (Joseph) Ricker, Gregory Monroe and Amelia Monroe.
Robert received his Master’s Degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. He was an Electrical Engineer. He was the former Professor and Chairman of the Engineering Technology Department, College of Engineering at Lawrence Technological University. He authored a book entitled, “Electronics in Industry”. Besides being an avid sailor, Robert was an enthusiastic gardener. No one could grow and maintain hollyhocks like he could. He also was a dedicated University of Michigan Wolverine fan.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Friday, October 18th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday beginning at 4:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
Robert will be entombed at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth.
