Richard Merwyn Hand

Richard “Dick” Merwyn Hand, age 80 of Plymouth, passed away on May 24, 2018. Dick was born on September 17, 1937 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Merwyn and Helen (nee Medbourne) Hand. Dick married Sue Ellen (nee Felke) on February 27, 1960. He attended Culver Military Academy and Purdue University and he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Dick worked as an Engineer for petrochemical companies such as, Texaco and Ralph Schrader, Inc. He lived in Kansas, Ohio, Texas, Florida and Michigan. He loved golf, fishing, boating, playing cards and cribbage.

He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 58 years, Sue Ellen. Dick is the loving and devoted father of Beth Gorman and Scott Hand and proud grandfather of Kate Gorman Hunyor, Madeleine Gorman, Kennedy Hand, Andrew Hand and Abagayle Hand.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Friday, June 1st from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

The Memorial Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, June 2nd at 2:00 P.M. to be officiated by Pastor Drex Morton.
