Richard D. Morkut, age 69 of Plymouth, passed away on November 25, 2019.
Richard was born on June 9, 1950 in Detroit to his parents, Gene S. and Charlene Marie (nee Leahy) Morkut. For 23 years, he has been the beloved and devoted husband of Deborah (nee Maksimczyk) Morkut since their marriage on December 31, 1995. Richard is also the proud father of his two sons, Brandon Morkut and Christopher Morkut. He is also survived by his younger brother, Douglas (Kathy) Morkut.
Richard was a proud retiree of Ford Motor Company where he was a Graphic Artist and Engineer. He enjoyed computers and technology, and enjoyed taking on home improvement projects that could also incorporate automation and new technologies. He was an avid fan of U of M and Lions football. More than anything, he loved spending time with his beloved cats, Vladi & Sophie and birds, Neela & Sunny.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Friday, November 29th from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 30th at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 North Haggerty Road, Plymouth.
Richard will be in-state at the church beginning at 9:30 A.M.
