Rev. W. Ronnie Dykes

The Reverend W. Ronnie Dykes of Plymouth, went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2018. He was 84 years old. Ronnie is the beloved husband of Rita Dykes, loving father of Rachel (the late Miller) Goodman, Ronald (the late Theresa) Dykes, and Travis (Candace) Dykes, cherished grandfather of 5 and great grandfather of 7. He was preceded in death by his parents Willis and Verna Dykes.

Ronnie was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Growing up in a musical family, he learned to play the piano and organ at the very young age of 5. Through out his teenage years he played for such groups as The Speer Family, The Jack Coe Ministries and many Church of God Campmeetings across the country.

As an ordained minister of the Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee for 54 years Ronnie pastored churches in Florida,Georgia,Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

In Ronnies latter retirement years he continued to minister in music and the word of God at Tonquish Creek Manor in Plymouth, Michigan

Ronnie loved his family, music and ministry.

Ronnie’s legacy of his love of faith and music will be carried on not only by his family, but also by the many lives he touched thruout the years, and the many friends who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 15, from 2:30-5pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, 48170. The Funeral Service will begin after Visitation starting at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to Ronnie’s family.
