Rebecca Marie Hayes

Rebecca Marie Hayes, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away on January 7, 2025, in Canton, Michigan, at the age of 74. Born on March 5, 1950, Rebecca was known for her exceptional skills as a medical transcriptionist, distinguished by her remarkable memory and proficiency in typing. Her dedication to her career was evident and earned her deep respect among her colleagues.

Rebecca's education culminated in a professional certificate, which laid a strong foundation for her professional life as a medical transcriptionist. She approached her work with a kindness and intelligence that mirrored her personality—attributes that endeared her to many. Her loved ones will remember her as a kind, loving, and intelligent individual who infused warmth and care into every interaction.

Family was the cornerstone of Rebecca's life, and she took immense pride in her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She shared over 50 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Jim Hayes. Together, they exemplified a partnership built on love and mutual respect. As a devoted mother to her sons, Brian (Janet) and Steven (Courtney), Rebecca nurtured and supported them in every aspect of their lives. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Chloe, Joseph, and Jenavieve, as well as her great-grandchild Ember, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. Rebecca also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as loving friends.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Heritta, who instilled in her the values of compassion and integrity that she carried throughout her life.

The family invites friends and loved ones to join them for a memorial gathering to honor Rebecca’s life on January 11, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, located at 280 S. Main St, Plymouth, Michigan, 48170.  A time for Sharing Memories of Rebecca will be held at 5:30 P.M.

Her contributions to her family, profession, and community will never be forgotten. Rebecca Marie Hayes leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
