Ralph R. Webb, husband of Mattie Mae (Adams), passed away at his home on Sunday, December 18, 2011, at the age of 80, under the care of St. Joseph Mercy Hospice and his family. Ralph had fought a long battle against cancer. He was born on September 14, 1931, in Jenkins, Kentucky, the son of the late Gillie E. and Stella E. (Adams) Webb. Ralph served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict in 1952 and 1953. He was honorably discharged from the Army Reserves in 1960. He held memberships in both the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. In 1953, he married Mattie, his wife of 58 years, in Mayking, Kentucky. Ralph worked as a Journeyman Machine Repairman at Livonia Spring and Bumper Division of General Motors for 28 years, retiring in 1982. As his wife stated, Ralph could fix anything broken and his mission in life was to make everyone smile and laugh. He enjoyed geography and studying maps along with a love of music and of his church, Plymouth Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Mattie, and his children, Ralph R. (Michelle) Webb Jr. of Columbia, TN, and Gillie W. (Denise) Webb of Rockford, MI. He also leaves his grandchildren, Jason of Columbia, TN, Kevin of Murfreesboro, TN, Harrison of Rockford, MI, and Morgan (Adam) Rogers of Grand Rapids, MI. Also surviving Ralph is a host of nieces, nephews, other family, friends and fellow members of Plymouth Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Gillie "Doc" Webb, Marybell (Sexton) Webb, Eugene Webb, James D. Webb, Charles E. Webb and Wanda (Collins) Webb.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12noon until 3pm and from 5pm until 9pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday from the funeral home at 11am, with the Pastor Richard Maddeaux of Plymouth Church of Christ officating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth, where Army Honors will be rendered. Contributions are suggested to " In Search of the Lord's Way, " P.O.
