Bud Dingeldey passed away at Fairfax Manor in Yspilanti, on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at the age of 76. " Bud," as he was known, was born on his parents' farm in Canton Township, located between Ford and Cherry Hill Roads off of Haggerty Road. He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1953, and received his B.S. degree in Agriculture from Michigan State University in 1957. In 1962, he married his sweetheart, Karen L. Stevenson, and together they enjoyed 49 years of marriage. After college Bud went to work for his family in sales and service for tractors and heavy equipment. Later he joined the work force at Ford Motor Company, Wayne assembly plant, as a repairman and mechanic and retired from there in 2003 after 26 years of service. In his earlier years he was active in 4-H. His other interests included helping in his church, Plymouth Wesleyan, and he loved to bowl and snowmobile. After retirement he and his wife resided in the West Branch area, then returned to this area.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; his children, Jeff (Amy) McIntosh, Dennis (Judy) Dingeldey, Lori (Dan) Mayer and Kevin (Emily) Dingeldey; his grandchildren, Melissa, John, Jessica (Jessie), Danny, Joshua, Kayla and McKenna; and his siblings, James, Jake, George, William, Karen, Richard, Diane and Bill.
Visitation will be at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, on Sunday from 3pm until 9pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11am with Pastor David Collins of Huron Hills Church of Ann Arbor officiating. Interment will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Livonia.
