Peggy Michele Tomlinson

Peggy Michele Tomlinson peacefully passed away on November 18, 2023.  She is a beloved wife, mother of two, sibling to six, a passionate advocate for children’s and women's issues, conservationist and environmentalist.

Age 71, she was born in Detroit, graduated from Taylor Kennedy High School, Cum Laude from Western Michigan University, and Summa Cum Laude from the University of Michigan Graduate School of Social Work (MSW).  Peggy was a great student of all the things she pursued.

She is a member in good standing, Plymouth Canton Optimists Club and chair of their annual essay contest.

Peggy dedicated 27 years as a school social worker in the Airport School District solving countless student behavior, academic, financial, and family dynamic problems for many hundreds of children served and nurtured. Her work literally saved lives.  Peggy is and was a dedicated public servant.

She is survived by husband Jim of 46 years, son David Tomlinson (Katie), Jay Tomlinson (Shon Smith), granddaughter Emma, and two grandson’s Theo and Graham.

Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home 280 S. Main Street Plymouth, Michigan on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service beginning at 1:00 P.M.  Following the Funeral Service, there will be a gathering at Compari’s Restaurant, 350 South Main Street in Plymouth.
