Patricia Ann Nagy (Takacs), 75, of Plymouth, Michigan, passed away on December 7th, 2018.
Pat was born in Detroit, Michigan to Joseph and Madie Takacs on January 23rd, 1943. She went to high school at Edsel Ford in Dearborn, MI and she graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in education. She worked as an English teacher for a number of years until she adopted her son Scott, later followed by adopted daughter Lynette. She was involved in many organizations including the Jaycees, MaPa (adoptive parents), parent teacher organizations, and various Catholic causes.
Becoming a single parent seven years after the arrival of her first son, Pat successfully managed to navigate long days, a challenging divorce, and stressful financial situations to overcome any obstacles that stood in the way of providing a stable, rewarding, and opportunistic life for her two children.
In her earlier days, Pat loved donate her time to many organizations. With her friend Barb, she established the “Ice Cream Social” and was leader of her kids Parent Teacher Organization. In her later years she loved to scrapbook, creating some of the most elaborate, love-filled, photo books full of memories for her family to enjoy for many years that often consumed 100s of hours per book.
Pat is survived by Scott (Takacs), ex-spouse Rebecca, Lynette and spouse David (Gajewski), Brother Joseph (Takacs), Grandchildren Joey (Takacs), Nathan (Takacs), Andrew (Takacs) and Jamie (Gajewski). Pat is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Madie Takacs.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be given to the America Heart and Lung Association.
A special recognition is extended to Violet Lash “Aunt Vi”, Pat’s best friend, neighbor, “sister” of 48+ years whom through her friendship and support made Pat’s life the best it could be.
Visitation will be Monday, December 10th, from 5-8pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home located at 280 S. Main St, Plymouth, MI 48170. Her Funeral Service will begin at 6:30pm Monday evening.
Burial will follow Tuesday, December 11th at St. Hedwig Cemetery at 23755 Military Rd, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127. Committal Prayers will begin at 9:45am at the mausoleum. Burial will follow the Committal Prayers.
