Patricia Ann Bunyea

Patricia Ann Bunyea, formerly of Plymouth, Michigan, passed away peacefully at age 83 on September 21, 2022 in Saline, Michigan. Pat was born on January 2, 1939 in Flat Rock, Michigan to her late parents, John and Viola (Kaiser) Welle. On February 10, 1962 she married Guy Bunyea. They were married for 47 years until his death in 2009. They had four children; Lynda (Rob) Poet, Barbara (Chris) Gurk, Guy (Katy) Bunyea Jr., and Sarah Jane Bunyea, who passed away at birth. She was the very proud grandma of Debby (Rance) Rickard, Bill Poet, Richard Poet, Jake Bunyea, and Luci Bunyea. She was great-grandma to SarahLyn Patricia Rickard, James Rickard, GraceLyn Rickard, and Amanda Shiloh Rose Rickard, who also passed away at birth.

Pat and Guy ran Bunyea Farms and Trucking in Plymouth for over 40 years. One of Pat’s favorite hobbies was writing poems, they almost always told a story about a family member or event. She was also a very accomplished cook and baker. In her lifetime, Mother shopped for, hauled it home, carried it in and cooked up TONS of food for the many meals she prepared. A great deal of them with little or no notice. Her table was always open.

Mother and Dad opened their home to many young people who needed a leg up. They always spoke fondly of those times in their later years. Pat was always up for an adventure with her grandkids and great grandkids; if mischief was in the air, Grandma was surely involved. Grandma was an avid jokester and prankster and brought humor to our lives daily.

Friends may visit St John’s Lutheran Church, 8805 Austin Rd Saline Michigan, on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 10am until 2pm. A funeral service will be held at 2pm. Memorial contributions can be directed to the family.
