Patricia Anne Kananen, age 81 of Plymouth, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018.
Patricia was born in Sunfield, Michigan on April 12,1937 to her parents, Guy and Maxine (nee Linhart) Taylor. For 61 years, she has been the devoted and beloved wife of Irving Kananen; loving mother of three children, Guy (Ana-Maria), Todd, Bill (Kristen) Kananen and their late son, Keenen Kananen and, proud grandmother of Patrick, Erika, Hope, Audrey, Carly and Alexander. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her siblings, Joyce Klotz, Kaye (Ron) Bodenmuller and her brother-in-law, Melvin Kananen.
She was so loved and adored by her children. When they grew to adulthood and started raising families of their own, Patricia’s empty nest was ready to take on the joys of being a grandmother. Her status as a grandmother brought the traditional respect along with her guidance and wisdom to each and every one of them and was reinforced by reading fairy tales and storybooks before a goodnight kiss.
There was nothing like baking day at Christmastime in Patricia’s kitchen. She delighted and spoiled each grandchild with holiday treats straight from her oven. They would watch her pour, and mix and stir up each batch. It is a memory to each one of them of their very own grandmother – grandchild bond.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Sunday, September 9th from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the funeral service at 5:00 P.M. The service will be officiated by Reverend Lynn Snider.
Patricia will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth.
