Patricia Ann Dunajski (nee LaDouceur), 87, of Westland, Michigan, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019, peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones, following a short illness.
Born on April 27, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Tremel) LaDouceur, and the sister of the late Jack, Robert (Margaret), and Daniel (Flora) LaDouceur.
Pat worked for the Detroit Edison Company for several years, then retired from the Kmart Corporation after many years of loyal and dedicated service. She was a member of Saint Mary’s Cause of Our Joy Church where she volunteered her time to teach catechism to young children, and she did charitable works through the church’s Medjugorje Circle. She also enjoyed walking daily with her friends when her health permitted; and she made frequent yearly trips with her family to Frankenmuth, Michigan and Longboat Key, Florida.
Surviving is her beloved husband of sixty-three years, Robert J. Dunajski; five loving daughters, Susan Moore, Karen (James) Dotson, Elaine (Timothy) Duncan, Sharon Baron, and Carol (Andrew) Schweikhart; grandchildren Sarah (Dotson) Ipince and Joshua Dotson, Luke and Joel Duncan, Nicole and Lauryn Baron, and Katie, Nicholas, and Nathan Schweikhart; and great-grandchildren Nicolas (Dotson) Ipince, Hugo Duncan, and Mackenzie Duncan. Pat was truly devoted to her family, and will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Friends and family will be received at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S Main St., Plymouth, MI, from 2 – 8 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m., on Sunday, August 4, and from 12:30 – 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, until the 1 p.m. Mass at St. Mary, Cause of Our Joy Church, 8200 N Wayne Rd., Westland, MI.
