Norman passed away at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Superior Township on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the age of 80. He was born in Dearborn, the son of Jerry and Bessie (Casar) Blahovec. He served with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and worked 42 years for Detroit Edison in building and maintaining sub stations. He was a member of the Plymouth Elks and enjoyed fishing and being a " grandpa." He and his wife Noreen, who survives him, shared 59 years of marriage. He is also survived by his three daughters, Barbara Dowling, Patricia Sovinski and Joanne (Cliff) Fogleman. His grandchildren, Matthew (Jackie) Dowling, Aimee Dowling, John and Katie Zahodne and Connor Sovinski and great grandchildren Jacob, Mitchell and Andrew Dowling also survive. Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Sunday from 1pm until 9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home with Father Thomas Belczak of St. Kenneth Catholic Church of Plymouth officiating. Military honors will be given by the Air Force at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
