Norma Beckerman, born on July 7, 1937, on the family farm outside of Manchester, Michigan, went to her eternal home in heaven on November 15, 2024.
A devoted homemaker, volunteer, business woman, and entrepreneur, Norma was the heart of her family. She was a source of joy to those who knew her, always had a little mischief up her sleeve, and she knew how to throw a great party.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Joe Beckerman. Norma was the proud mother of two children, Margot Beckerman (Mike Macione) and J. Scott (Karen) Beckerman. Her granddaughters Kimberly (Evan) Hogan and Katherine Beckerman were the light of her life and brought her so much joy.
Norma was the youngest child of Lewis and Lena Alber, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Wayne, Robert, and Raymond Alber and two sisters, Marie Abdon and Ruth Johnson. She had many stories of her growing up years, from attending a one-room schoolhouse, gathering eggs from the chicken coop, and driving independently at the age of 12.
Throughout her life, she remained a vibrant member of her community, serving as a Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, and PTA mom. She was a proud member of PEO Chapter AI, and cherished her PEO sisters.
