Nelda Elizabeth Violi

Passed away on Sunday morning, September 26, 2010, at Medi-Lodge of Plymouth at the age of 93. Nelda was born in Steubenville, Ohio on February 6, 1917 the daughter of Anthony & Maria (Levinio) Scurti. Her early life was spent in Ohio where she meet her husband Joseph whom she was married to in 1936. Joseph passed away in 1992. She worked as a telephone operator in Ohio and together with her husband ran Violi's Beer Store in Dearborn Heights for over twenty five years. She was a member of St. Theodore's Catholic Church of Westland along with the Alter Society, the Christian Mother's Group and the 3rd Order of Mary. She is survived by her three sons, Joseph (Ronda), Michael (Janet) and Phillip (Vickie) Violi. Her first child Guido Robert passed away shortly after birth. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Joe, Marisa, Phil, Michele, Michael, Gina and Maria along with two great grandchildren Hailey and Mackenzie. Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Monday from 4pm - 9pm. Visitation will continue on Tueday from 10am until time of funeral mass at 11 am at St. Theodore Catholic Church, 8200 Wayne Road, Westland. She will be intered beside her husband at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Brownstown Township.
