Nancy was born,
June 11, 1944 in Laurium, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Carl Richard and Dorothy (Hicks) Johnson and lived in Calumet until age 8, when she moved with her family to Highland Park, Michigan.
Dear mother of Darrin (Lisa) Spooner, Michelle (Andy) Price, and Cynthia (Matthew) DeWolfe. Proud grandmother of Caitlin Elizabeth (Josh) Pancone, Ryan Spooner, Ashley Jorgensen, Marissa (Timothy) Waldbauer, Brittney Berkey, Andrew Price, Hailey, Connor and Joshua DeWolfe, and one great grandchild, Felix Waldbauer.
Survived by many nieces and nephews, sister in law Norma (née) Spooner (Richard) Stremick. She was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy (née) Johnson Loveless and brother Richard (Barbara) Johnson.
Nancy graduated from Highland Park High School in 1962, married the love of her life less than one year later,
March 30, 1963. She was devoted to Gerald (Jerry) until he passed away 54 years later. During their marriage, Nancy’s fondest memories were of the family enjoying camping and traveling. She opened their Lake Leelanau vacation house to all of their family and friends to enjoy. During summer and winter months, everyone had lots of fun at the lake boating, swimming, snowmobiling, or just relaxing and enjoying a campfire. She loved being next-door neighbors with the Wood family, both in Canton and Lake Leelanau, and enjoyed their children and grandchildren. Nancy led a very full life as a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was able to continue working, and enjoyed doing so, into her later years.
She left this earthly world with a radiant smile, to watch over us from her heavenly home with Jerry.
