August 23, 1938 — May 25, 2014

Nancy Joan Cote, 75, of Beulah, Michigan passed away May 25, 2014 after a 3 ½ year battle with breast cancer. Loving wife of Elmer “Al” Cote and beloved mother to Michele (Jim) Potter and Jeffrey (Jenelle) Cote. Proud Mimi (grandmother) of Gabriel Chance Cote and Renee Colette Freeman. She was preceded in death by parents Franklin and Frances Comins of Flint, Michigan. Survived by siblings B. Jill (Howard Stein) Comins, H Mark (Beverly) Comins, and Catherine (Raymond Schwarz) Comins, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She earned her bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan in education and taught school in Livonia before spearheading and teaching in the preschool program in Hartland. She and her husband, Al retired to Beulah where she worked part-time for Crystal Crate and Cargo; there she founded their “Kids Korner”. In more recent years, she and Al summered in Beulah and spent their winters in North Port, Florida. Nancy was an avid reader and belonged to numerous groups and organizations; PEO, Garden Club, several bridge clubs, Mahjong group, Meditation Group, the Fairway Foxes Golf Club, Paul Oliver Auxillary & Gift Shop, the Nancy Group, Dunham Lake Gourmet Club, and Benzie County Dinner Club. Memorial Mass at St. Ann’s in Frankfort, Michigan on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 11:00am with luncheon to follow. A private internment for family at a later date. Donations in her honor should be made to any of the following: Susan G. Komen, a hospice of your choice, or Beulah Public Library.
