Nancy Ann Ashton, 84, of Canton, Michigan, beloved wife of Jack Ashton, died peacefully on December 14, 2017 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. Born October 20, 1933 in Dearborn, Michigan, she is predeceased by her parents, Donald and Mary Ann Haislet, and brother, Donald Haislet.
Nancy was a registered nurse who later decided to stay home to take care of her growing family. She was a caring, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Nancy enjoyed the warmth of the sun, the smell of the flowers in her garden, the beauty of the water and the songs of the birds around her. She and Jack loved traveling, spending summers with family and friends at Crystal Lake in Frankfort, Michigan and winters in Apopka, Florida.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Jack; children Jeff, Steve, Joel (Kristine) and Jenny (Bryan); and grandchildren Aaron, Jack, Charles, Alicia, Jillian, Claire, Chad, Jason, Meredith, Rowan, Grace, Joshua and Natalie.
Visitation is planned for Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm and on Thursday December 21, 2017 from 10 am until time of the funeral service at 11 am at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth. The family invites you to a memorial luncheon following the service at the Courthouse Grill in Plymouth, Michigan at approximately 1:00 pm.
The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the Salvation Army.
