Nadine Faye Matson Heid, age 97, of Plymouth, Michigan died on February 15, 2021. Nadine was born March 18, 1923 in Clifton, Texas and grew up on a nearby farm. She obtained her nurses training at St. Pauls Hospital in Dallas, Texas. She served as a nurse first lieutenant in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. She married Air Corps pilot Ralph C Heid of Saginaw, Michigan at Perrin Field in Texas.
She lived a life ripe with challenges yet rich with rewards. She picked cotton, tended the sick, served the military, and raised and molded eleven children. She loved, comforted, and prayed for her family, friends, neighbors, and our country. As she and her beloved husband Ralph often reminded us “The basic unit of society is the family.”
Nadine’s husband preceded her in death in 2009. She is survived by 11 children
Barbara (Gene Aars), Ellen (Stephen Elpern), Ralph (Mary Lynn), Ann (Jeff Barstow), David, Nancy (Jack Lockwood), Mary Kaye (Richard Morse), Charlie (Beth), Tom (Alma Delia), Jim, John (Irmita), 25 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
There will be a family only mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and a private burial at Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville, Michigan.
