Michael W. Mincher, age 75 of Plymouth, passed away on January 23, 2021.
Michael was born on June 3, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to his parents, Wallace and Dorothy (née Kindree) Mincher. He is the beloved and devoted husband of 51 years to Pamela Griffin; loving father of two children, John Michael Mincher and Scott Griffin (Marie) Mincher and proud grandfather of Zoe.
He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and Master’s Degree in Construction Engineering – both from The University of Michigan and was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity at U of M. Later, he became the owner of Mincher Floor Company in Dearborn Heights.
As a local professional and business leader in the 1980s, Michael was a member and past President of The Rotary Club of Detroit – the oldest Rotary Club in Michigan. He was deeply committed and involved with a variety of community projects and organizations. He was also a member of Meadowbrook Country Club.
Michael and Pamela loved to travel. Traveling allowed them to see the world, and learn about history, geography and experience new cultures and explore hidden places for fun and adventure. He enjoyed sports, especially, Skiing, Golf, and Hockey – he also enjoyed playing Softball and Tennis when he was younger. As a participant in any sports activity, you learn how to work hard, set goals, develop leadership and teamwork skills and learn how to handle difficult situations. These were the skills that most likely made him the successful business owner that he had become in his life.
If you were fortunate enough to know him, Mike was always known to have a great sense of humor and could always make you laugh and smile. He loved music, nature, Lake Michigan sunsets, comedy, art, crossword puzzles, reading and life in general.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
