Michael Scott Brown, age 56 of Plymouth passed away on November 23, 2020.
Mike was born on 8/2/64 in Wayne, MI to his parents, Russell and the late Jackie Brown. He grew up in Garden City, MI and graduated from Garden City West, Class of 1982.
Mike was married to Sandy (nee Heintze) on June 13, 2009.
Mike worked as a sheet metal worker for Ford Motor Company for 22 years and leaves behind many great friends, especially his work partner, Pat O’Hare. He was a member of UAW Local 245 and a past member of Local 80.
Mike enjoyed sports and was an avid hockey player for many years, wearing #16 and known for his hard, forceful hits. In 1996, Mike played with the State Utility Rators making it to the USA Hockey National Championship and proudly bringing the title home to Michigan. He also played baseball for Garden City in his youth, making it to the Pony League World Series and Bronco League World Series. He also enjoyed golfing, camping and the outdoors.
Mike was the King of the barbecue and loved to make smoked brisket. His daughters loved daddy’s barbecued chicken legs and his homemade ice cream floats!
Mike loved his dogs, especially Samantha who crossed the rainbow bridge in 2019 and will be greatly missed by his golden retriever, Khloe.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Sandy (nee Heintze) and was the loving and caring father of Mikayla (Mike) Schultz, Alyssa, Patrick (Ailed), Gavin and Brennan.
He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his father, Russell (Kathy), his brother, Steve and his loving Aunt Barb McKinley. Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Jackie.
He will be greatly missed by other family and friends, especially Rob O’Leary his lifetime best friend.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Saturday, December 12, 2020 beginning at 11:00 A.M. until the time of the memorial service at 12 Noon, also at the funeral home.
For those who cannot attend and wish to view the Funeral Service in a safe environment, the funeral will be live streamed.
As of November 18, 2020, we are permitted to have no more than 25 people in attendance for visitations and funerals. Please be advised that in observance of the Governmental Order from the State of Michigan and the current COVID-19 situation, when in attendance at the visitation and funeral service, we kindly ask for the safety and well-being of the families we serve, and for your health, that everyone practice social distancing and consideration for other guests in attendance. Masks are mandatory. Please refrain from handshaking and embracing family members and one another.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Huron Valley Humane Society, 3100 Cherry Hill Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48105.
