Mary Violet Plante, of Plymouth, died March 8, 2018, at the age of 94. She was born on September 8, 1923, in Wyoming, to Joseph and Ann Fanelli. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Henry Plante. Mary is survived by her two beloved children, Henry (Roger Groth) Plante III, and Charles Plante; her 3 loving grandchildren, Jeffrey (Kelly), Nicholas (Stacy), and Sarah (Chad); her precious great grandchildren, Owen, Charlie, Annie, Griffin, and Carson; and her dear siblings, Violet (the Late Donald) Toth and Joseph (Betty) Fanelli. Mary is also preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, William, Dora, and Jeanette.
Mary was a proud member of the post-war “Greatest Generation” as she pursued a career at Michigan Bell, then at AAA (The Auto Club) in Livonia and Farmington Hills. She was known for her immense kindness to both friends and strangers. And she was most proud of her large, loving, Italian family. They helped her to live independently, and they were with her in her final, peaceful days.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 11, from 2-8pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, Michigan, 48170. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, March 12, at 10am at St. Mary, Cause of Our Joy Catholic Church, 8200 N. Wayne Road, Westland, Michigan 48185. Family and friends may begin visiting at the Church at 9:30am.
