Mary Sue Williams

September 7, 1941 — January 23, 2013

Mary Sue Williams - September 7, 1941 - January 23, 2013 – After a long illness, Mary passed away at Angela Hospice in Livonia with her family beside her on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the age of 71. Mary was born in Detroit on September 7, 1941 the daughter of John and Gertrude ( DuMontier ) Nalley. She attended Precious Blood School, then St. Mary's Academy in Monroe and finally Benedictine High School where she attended classes and graduated with her brother and her husband to be, John Williams. She was delighted to be named the football homecoming queen in her senior year. Mary and John were married in 1963 at Precious Blood Church and moved to Dayton, Ohio where her children were born. While living in Dayton she enjoyed horseback riding and worked as a legal secretary, an occupation she thoroughly enjoyed. The family moved to the Plymouth-Northville area where they have resided for over 30 years. With a remarkable talent for artistic dolls, antiques and collectibles, Mary ran a successful business on e-bay for several years. An avid genealogist, she thoroughly researched her family history back to Canada, France and England and was proud of the fact that she was a direct relative of Madame Cadillac; the wife of Antoine Cadillac, founder of Detroit. But her greatest interest was her love of her family; being a great wife, mother and grandmother. She always had a love for dogs and had many during her life, especially shelties. The three dogs she has at home brought great joy and comfort to her life the last few years. She is survived by her husband John and sons Michael, Daniel ( Elizabeth ) and Timothy ( Michelle ) and grandchildren Ian and Lila. Her brother J. Michael Nalley preceded her in death, just last year. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 pm until 9 pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth. A Rosary Service will be held at 7 pm Sunday. Visitation will continue on Monday from 10 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 North Territorial Road ( at Beck ) Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Angela Hospice Home Care, Inc. to support the wonderful service and quality care they provide to those undergoing the final transition ( 866 464-7810 ).
