Passed away at the St. Joseph Adult Group Home in Pinckney on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the age of 92. Mary was born in Youngstown, Ohio on February 18, 1922 the daughter of Mitar and Violet ( nee Kovacevic ) Glusac. At the age of 6 the family moved to Highland Park where her father went to work for Henry Ford at the Highland Park Assembly building the Model-T. After her graduation from Highland Park High School she did clerical work and then during the war years she worked for the War Department in Michigan. She sang in the St. Lazarus Orthodox Church Choir and it was here that she met her husband to be, Walter. They were married in 1945 and shared a 30 year marriage, Walter passed away I 1975. The family lived in Redford Township and then moved to Plymouth in 1964. She enjoyed bowling and gardening and going to the casino with her sisters Pattie and Rose. But her greatest joy in her life was her family. She is survived by her children Marc ( Mary Anne ) Stankov, Gail ( David ) Basalla and Don Stankov. She also leaves her grandchildren Christopher ( Amanda ) Stankov, Lauren Basalla, Emily ( Robert ) Antoniewicz and Elizabeth Stankov. Also surviving are five great grandchildren, the twins Connor and Gavinn, Jamisonn Ryan and Vanessa and siblings Stella, Rose, Ann and Michael. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday from 2pm until 5 pm and 6 pm until 8 pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth where a memorial service will be conducted on Friday at 12 noon Contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
